Welcome to the Carenet-se homepage. CareNet is an advanced research network infrastructure in Stockholm, Sweden. It is a collaboration between centers of academic excellence and the industry. Participating academic institutions include: KTH - Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden's premiere technical university and Karonliska Institute, Sweden's largest medical university. This project is part of a multi-stakeholder effort that is targeted at transforming the delivery and quality of healthcare to elderly people and outpatients. The project is made possible through support from Vinnova, the Swedish government agency for research and innovation.

Johan Permert (born 1957), MD (1985), Ph.D. (1993), and Professor in surgery since 2003. Johan has over 100 scientific publications, mainly in the field of nutrition, metabolism, surgery and pancreatic cancer. Johan has a broad experience in organizing healthcare and is now the head of Gastro. Johan has developed a telemedicine network based process for the ÖAK health care in the Stockholm region, connecting up to ten hospitals using video mediated communication.

The company specializes in building high performance systems and operating system hardware compatibility and has been involved in the Bifrost project for several years. The role is to provide expertize on hardware for open source routing and video conferencing in the context of the project as well as for the LiTech commercial customers.
